Greater Zhanhe Wetland N. R. provides benial conditions for wild cranes as well rescued cranes. Since the establishment of the N. R. all 9 forestry stations and 596 forestry classes have stopped activities such as wood cutting. Accompanying the effort of awareness raising, the local farmers and other residents are more and more willing to help protect the cranes and their habitats. During the summer of 2010 wild cranes often came very close to the rescuing stations and interacted with the rescued cranes. Furthermore, human beings were able to get close to the wild cranes. Changes are on the way towards more benial conditions for harmonic co-existence of cranes and human beings.

大沾河湿地国家级自然保护区白头鹤栖息地保护良好，野生鹤与救助鹤和谐相处。 自保护区建立，涉及到保护区的9个林场所596个林班全部停止生产经营活动，随着保护和宣传力度的加大，人们的保护意识明显提高，白头鹤的栖息环境也得到很大改善，他们有了一个可以自由栖息繁衍的家园，越来越多的白头鹤重返它们的家园大沾河，今年多次有野生白头鹤到监测站附近和我们救助的鹤一起觅食，玩耍，而且人也可以近距离接触它们。证明它们对这里的人和栖息地的信任度越来越大。

From early Apr. to end of July 2010, questionnaires on Hooded Crane and its habitats were distributed among residents in and around Greater Zhanhe Wetland N. R. 200 completed questionnaires were collected from people covering a variety of ages, professions, areas. The survey results confirm the lack of understanding of Hooded Crane and its habitats and the need for more effort in awareness raising at Great Zhanhe Wetland N. R.
4月初到7月末，陆续对保护区及周边的不同地区、不同年龄段、不同职业的人从十二个方面进行了白头鹤生境问卷调查，填写调查表200份，从中可以看出人们对白头鹤的认识差距很大，需要我们要加大宣传力度，扩大宣传面。

In July begins the rainy season in Xinqing Wetland. Water level raises. Hooded cranes rejoice at the abundant food resources.

Daily monitoring of Hooded Crane continues. Since 25 June we have been able to hear these birds. However there have been no sightings.

7月，新青白头鹤自然保护区迎来了雨季。湿地水位上涨，白头鹤的各种食物变得十分丰富。由于今年的雨水大，湿地的草高，又是养育小鹤的季节，只能听见鹤的叫声看不到鹤。

按监测记录的数据显示，自6月25号到现在看不到白头鹤。估计成鸟正在抓紧时间饲喂、训练幼鸟，以便它们能迅速达到迁飞时的体态和获得迁飞的本领。

As part of an ongoing awareness raising effort towards harmonic human-crane cohabitance, 300 framed arts with Hooded Crane as subject have been distributed to schools, villagers, community offices etc. in villages around Xinqing Nature Reserve.

These framed arts are much appreciated as artistic deco as well as greeting cards from the Hooded Crane who mate and breed every summer in Xinqing Nature Reserve.

国家一级保护鸟类白头鹤的故乡——黑龙江新青白头鹤自然保护区在白头鹤国际援助的资助下，积极开展保护区周边社区白头鹤保育宣传工作。我们制作了以 保护白头鹤为主题的精美家居装饰画300幅，发放给保护区周边社区、村屯、学校，既能起到美化家居的作用，又能达到长久的宣传效果，以此来提高保护区周边 群众对白头鹤的保护意识，引导群众主动参加到保护白头鹤的队伍中来，使白头鹤的生存环境不断改善。

From end of May to mid June 2010 staff at Great Zhanhe Wetland N. R. carried out flora population survey at various feeding sites and breeding sites of hooded cranes around the N. R. resulting in 85 flora population survey reports, contributing to our understanding of Hooded Crane habitats.

5月末至六月中旬，大沾河湿地国家级自然保护区对白头鹤采食地及繁殖地的植物群落进行了调查，填写表格85份，增强了对白头鹤栖息地的了解，为更好的保护白头鹤栖息地奠定了基础。

In 2010, 3 hooded cranes and 3 white-naped cranes were rescued by Great Zhanhe Wetland N. R. One hooded crane was not in a condition to return to the wilderness. The other two hooded cranes and the three white-naped cranes have all been ringed. As the three white-naped cranes were ready to return to the wilderness, 26 June saw their releases.

大沾河湿地国家级自然保护区2010年鹤类环志记录表

From 26 May to 15 Jun 2010 a survey of hooded crane nests in Greater Zhanhe Wetland N. R. was carried out by the staff of the N. R. together with Prof. Yumin Guo and Dr. Shengwu Jiao from Beijing Forestry University. The N. R. provided a driver and a 4×4 jeep. A total of 21 nests of hooded cranes have been investigated on-site. Data were collected from nearly 100 samples at and around the nests. Such data will be extremely helpful in understanding the nest location choices of hooded cranes.

2010年5月26日至6月15日，北京林业大学自然保护区学院郭玉民教授与焦盛武博士来大沾河湿地国家级自然保护区，与保护区科研人员共同开展了白头鹤巢址选择调查工作，保护区派出越野吉普车一台，专职司机一名，先后对历年发现的21个白头鹤巢址进行了实地考查，采集了巢址及鹤巢周围近百个样方的详实资料，为白头鹤巢址选择研究工作提供了科学数据。

Two new borns in the hometown of Hooded Crane!

The mother is a wild hooded crane rescued in 1997.

The father is an 18 year-old zoo-raised hooded crane.

The pair had breeding records between 2003-2006 and never ever since.

They were reintroduced into the spring 2009. Xinqing Wetland Nature Reserve has set up a breeding environment that resembles that of Hooded Crane in the wilderness. It took the pair one year to adapt to the new environment before mating resumed in Spring 2010.  On 7 and 8 June, 2010 two babies saw the light of the world. The babies are healthy and already walking around following the parents.

2010年4月中旬后，黑龙江新青白头鹤自然保护区人工养殖的一对白头鹤开始有自然交配行为，于2010年5月8日、10日先后产下两个卵，经过这两只亲鸟的精心孵化，2010年6月7日，第一只雏鸟出壳，8日第二只雏鸟出壳。目前，两只雏鸟，身体健康，活动自如，在亲鸟的带领下已经出巢活动。

黑龙江新青白头鹤自然保护区人工养殖的这对白头鹤是2009年3月从齐齐哈尔龙沙公园引进的，雄鸟是人工孵化的,已有18岁，雌鸟是1997年人工救助的野生鹤。在齐齐哈尔龙沙公园养殖时，2003—2005年有过繁殖，2006年以后一直不繁殖。引到白头鹤保护区后，在新青国家级湿地公园内模拟白头鹤自然繁殖环境建立一处繁殖基地。在保护区工作人员的科学饲养下，经过一年的适应性生活，这对白头鹤今年又开始恢复繁殖，说明黑龙江新青白头鹤自然保护区自然环境优良，非常适合白头鹤繁殖，是白头鹤重要的繁殖地。

From early Apr. to end of May 2010 30 staff at various monitoring stations and working stations at Great Zhanhe Wetland N. R. carried out Hooded Crane population survey at 11 forestries around the N. R. resulting in 45 Hooded Crane population survey reports, contributing to our understanding of Hooded Crane population and its changes over the time.

4月初5月末，保护区从各科室及工作站、监测站抽调业务骨干30名，对保护区及周边的11个林场所进行了调查，共计调查280余人次，填写白头鹤种群数量调查表45份，为进一步确定保护区白头鹤的种群数量及其变化提供了依据。

24. May 2010, two nests of Hooded Crane, one old, one new, were discovered in Great Zhanhe Wetland Reserve. The two nests were only 8.23m apart in the same pond. Furthermore, in the new nests were two warm eggs. Detailed data collection were carried out on 27. May by the staff of Great Zhanhe Wetland N. R. and Dr. Yumin Guo.

2010年5月24日大沾河湿地国家级自然保护区在距茂岚车站6公里处的草甸内的一水塘内发现一新一旧两个白头鹤巢，两巢相距8.23米，新巢上有两枚鹤卵，5月27日，保护区科研人员陪同北京林业大学郭玉民教授提取了相关的数据资料。
