Activity: successfully banded five sub-adult hooded cranes which were confirmed to be in good health. Released, the five banded cranes flew towards southwest in a vee-formation.

在国家林业局、白头鹤国际援助和全国鸟类环志中心的支持下，在北京林业大学郭玉民先生的指导下，2012年4月25日，大沾河湿地科研人员在乌斯孟监测站一次成功的环志了5只白头鹤亚成体，环志鹤健康状况良好，环志后一同放飞，5只鹤成队列向西南方向飞走。

We recorded 146 hooded cranes in total this morning in western and southern Jianguo village of Lindian County, Heilongjiang Province, China. Most of them were foraging in the newly ploughed corn fields.

Among the 93 hooded cranes we observed, we identified 12 baby cranes, 28 adults, however we were unable to tell whether the remaing 53 individuals were adult cranes or fledglings.

We also recorded 59 white-naped cranes, 2 red-crowned cranes and 2 white cranes.

For the first time white cranes were sighted foraging for food on the farmlands in Lindian County.

We recorded 66 hooded cranes in total in southern Junmachang of Lindian County, Heilongjiang Province, China this morning. They flew from the farmland to the grassland. From a distance we were unable to tell whether they were adults or not.

In the afternoon, a total of 236 hooded cranes were recorded in southern Junmachang and Jianguo village. Again we were unable to tell whether they were adults or not. Among the hooded cranes we sighted this afternoon, 173 flew from the farmland to the grassland and 54 spiraled down from the high sky. They flew from east to west. It was obvious that they had just arrived.

2012年4月20日上午在军马场南记录到白头鹤66只，成幼无法辨别，由农田飞向草原；下午在军马场南和建国村记录到白头鹤236只，成幼无法辨别，173只由农田飞向草原，54只由高空盘旋下降，由东向西飞行，可以看出是刚刚迁来。

We recorded 144 hooded cranes in total in southern Junmachang of Lindian County, Heilongjiang Province, China this morning. Among them 71 were flying in the sky, 20 were foraging in the fields, and the remaining were having a rest on the grasslands.

At 8:42am a group of 74 hooded cranes flew up and left their stop-over site Lindian County riding the strong southwest wind.

We also recorded 11 white-naped cranes and 13 red-crowned cranes in southern Junmachang, also in the fields and on the grasslands of southern Huangniuchang.

Furthermore, 18 great bustards, including one separated from the group, were recorded in southern Hongqi Town.

We recorded 138 hooded cranes in total in the fields and on the grasslands of southern Junmachang in Lindian County, Heilongjiang Province, Chinathis morning. Most of them were taking a rest on the grasslands. In addition, we observed 42 white-naped cranes, 31 red-crowned cranes and 9 oriental white storks on the grasslands.

In the afternoon, a total of 47 hooded cranes which were foraging in the fields and one white-naped crane were observed in southern Junmachang. We also sighted four red-crowned cranes on the marsh land surrounded by reeds around Huanzidong.

Sighting: 145 hooded cranes were observed, among which a total of 20 were searching for food, most of the rest were flying towards their sleeping sites.

Sighting: one great bustard.

2012年4月13日上午在林甸县军马场草原记录到白头鹤57只，在军马场农田、草原记录到白枕鹤86只，丹顶鹤14只，灰鹤9只；下午在军马场农田和草原记录到白头鹤145只，20只在觅食，其余大多飞向夜栖地，并在黄牛场西发现大鸨1只，在獾子洞发现丹顶鹤11只，在獾子洞及军马场发现白枕鹤11只。

Location: rice fields, marsh lands surrounded by reeds around the dam

Sighting: 296 hooded cranes were observed in the morning, among which 15 were baby birds and 25 individuals can’t be recognized.

Location: grasslands

Sighting: 352 hooded cranes were observed in the afternoon. Out of the 352 cranes 309 could not be told from a distance as to whether they were adults or baby cranes, and only 3 of the remaining were identified as baby cranes. The majority of them were having a rest.

Sighting: Only 2 hooded cranes were observed flying in the sky. No hooded cranes were observed elsewhere. It is likely that the hooded cranes that had been previously stopping over at Lindian County had left the night before.

2012年4月10日上午在军马场稻田和大坝芦苇沼泽地发现白头鹤296只，其中幼鸟15只，25只无法辨别；下午在军马场草原发现白头鹤352只，309只成幼无法辨别，43只中有3只幼体，大多在休息。4月11日早上仅在军马场草原发现飞行的白头鹤2只，其他地方未发现白头鹤，应该是在昨晚迁走了。

On the morning of 9 Apr. 2012, a total of 292 hooded cranes were observed in southern Junmachang of Lindian County, Heilongjiang Province, China, among which 27, including 2 baby cranes, were foraging in the fields, and most others were having a rest on the grassland.

In the afternoon, a total of 484 hooded cranes were observed in the fields of southern Junmachang, and all of them were searching for food.

On the morning of 6 Apr. 2012, a total of 121 hooded cranes were observed in southern Junmachang of Lindian County, Heilongjiang Province, China, among which a total of 59 were foraging in the fields. In the afternoon, the number of hooded cranes at the same place increased to 297, and all of them were searching for food.

The results of our survey this morning at the above-mentioned place and in the surrounding areas show that all hooded cranes had departed by then. It is likely that they left their stop-over site Lindian County last night under the moonlight.

Monitoring records in previous years show that it is fairly likely that other migratory populations may arrive after these have departed.

Furthermore, mating behaviors of hooded cranes were photographed  in Xinqing Nature Reserve, their breeding habitat on the morning of 6 Apr. 2012.

2012年4月6日上午在军马场南发现白头鹤121只，其中59只在农田觅食；下午在军马场南农田发现觅食白头鹤297只。7日上午搜寻了上述地点及周边地区，一只也不见了，或许昨夜在朗月下迁离了该停歇地。按往年检测记录，还会有迁徙种群陆续到达。

新青繁殖地在6日清晨拍摄到了白头鹤交配行为。
