Grus Monacha

Grus means crane, monacha means crown, Hooed Crane has the good name of "the mystical and rare bird in the world" and "Nun Crane", it breeds in remote marshes and forest wetland in Far East area. 140 years after the nomination of the species, the first nest could only found in Russia in 1974. by hard field survey in 2002-2007, Dr. Guo Yu-Min a Chinese ornithologist found the breeding population of the crane in Xiaoxinganling Mountian, 12 nests were found, 6 of them were observed regularly, China then becomes the second country owns the breeding population of the crane.
